Usage
1. At a distance of about 1 foot (30cm~), spray inside and/or the outside of the suit or cosplay, enough to coat but not to soak
2. Avoid the suits eyes, airbrushed areas, and sharpie marks
(Due to the sprays being alcohol based it may cause damage. Use something to cover the eyes and check with your suit creator that your suit is alcohol safe. if not or you are unsure, try a test patch or a non alcohol based spray)
3. Apply evenly
4. Allow to dry before wearing. (~10m for alcohol based | ~30m for non alcohol based)
5. Smell from the spray distance to properly gauge the strength
Artificial Scents
Natural Scents
These are the sprays using artificial fragrance oils
These are the sprays using essential oils and other natural oils.
As with any scented spray, oils are used to create the scent. With artificial scents, strong fragrance oils are used. These oils are not safe for consumption nor is the alcohol, and if gotten in eyes wash right away.
The benefit of these oils are that they allow for a unique and quite vibrant scent.
One of the downsides to any scented spray is that the oils used contain small traces of a yellowish hue. With artificial oils that hue is slightly darker, and thus over time with use, staining will occur so please keep that in mind.
If you would like to avoid staining all together, please use unscented sprays. Allowing you to keep the disinfecting qualities without the worry.
As with the artificial sprays, oils are used to create the scent. With natural scents, essential oils are used. In KC sprays, the essential oils used are highly concentrated undiluted essences. While safer then artificial, it is still not consumable due to the alcohol and high concentrations within the oils, and if gotten in eyes, wash right away.
The benefit of essential oils are that they allow for a more natural and pleasant scent and are much safer.
One of the downsides to any scented spray is that the oils used contain small traces of a yellowish hue. With essential oils that hue is lighter and is much safer to use repeatedly on suits or cosplays, however of course, over time it will still build up.
If you would like to avoid staining all together, please use unscented sprays. Allowing you to keep the disinfecting qualities without the worry.
Staining and Removal
1. Take high proof alcohol (100 or higher)
2. Apply alcohol to a cloth
3. Dab stain or place on stain applying pressure
4. Let sit for around 10 minutes
5. repeat until stain lifts and begins fading
6. Rinse gently with mild dish soap or hand/body soap followed by water. (this can be done in a tub or large bucket, its recommended to do this stain cleaning process when you plan on washing your suit fully, as to prevent unnecessary washes and damage)
As stated above this is due to the yellowish hue that nearly all scented oils contain.
Stains are more likely on delicates or light colors and are a unfortunate reality of scented sprays. While staining may be a sad reality of scented sprays, it should not be something to be fearful of, they take a long time before staining and if you notice a yellowing of the fabrics, here are 2 methods for cleaning.
Method 1
Method 2
1. Make a 1:8 ratio of dishwashing detergent (mix with glycerin for more effectiveness) and water.
2. Stir thoroughly and apply to cloth
3. Dab stain or place on stain applying pressure
4. Let sit for around 10 minutes
5. repeat until stain lifts and begins fading (for best results, use different spots on the cloth or use paper towel instead)
6. Rinse gently with mild dish soap or hand/body soap followed by water. (this can be done in a tub or large bucket, its recommended to do this stain cleaning process when you plan on washing your suit fully, as to prevent unnecessary washes and damage)
